The most outstanding individuals and institutions that the state and independent sector has to offer have been recognised in the shortlist for the 2018 TES Schools Awards. It's been revealed that London East AP has been shortlisted for the BEST Alternative School award. The winners will be revealed at a gala awards evening at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London on Friday 22 June 2018. This academic year has seen our standards continue to rise. In December Challenge Partners said: “In a number of ways the team at LEAP are shaping the life chances of their pupils and their community” In January Ofsted said: “The (school) leadership team has maintained the good quality of education in the school since the last inspection. ….effective leadership ensure that all staff follow a common purpose” TES awards celebrate the extraordinary commitment, quality and innovation shown by teachers and support staff cross the UK and these qualities can be seen every day at LEAP. Being shortlisted for an award is a great achievement in itself; all pupils who attend LEAP should feel proud of what the school is achieving.Read more
Posted 6th Oct 2017Third Base Students attempt to climb Mount Mile End!!!Over the course of the week some of the Third Base students have been visiting the Climbing Wall at Mile End. This was a chance for many to test their strength and others to face their fear of heights. There were many competitions and we had various winners. Some of the students who particularly stood out were: Jim Smith for reaching the top of the wall and won the monkey house challenge Hasan Ali for not giving up and eventually reaching the top of the wall Arif Rahman for showing great courage and reaching the top of "The hill" despite a fear of heights. Posted 28th Sep 2017Headliners!Third Base students are attending a weekly programme at Headliners UK, a national media based charity, supported by the BBC Children in Need and Tower Hamlets Council. Our students are working on the Digital Citizenship programme where they are being taught videography, photography and journalism skills. Each skill set will have an OCN accreditation attached to it and the final project could be a Video Documentary, Radio Podcast, Photo Journalism, short magazine or anything media based.Read more
